PSG's €35m gamble on Parma's Japanese keeper meets Juventus interest
In a Paris office, agents spread the €35 million price tag on 23‑year‑old Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, as Fabrizio Romano confirms talks between Paris Saint‑Germain and Parma, with PSG viewing the keeper as a future investment yet unable to promise him a starting place.
Paris Saint‑Germain, the reigning double European champions, describe Suzuki as a long‑term investment. The club, however, admits it cannot guarantee him a regular starting berth in the near term.
Juventus are actively hunting a new first‑choice goalkeeper after their bid for Emiliano Martínez fell through. Martínez, 33, wants to establish himself in Turin from the start of the season, leaving the Italian side to consider Suzuki as an alternative.
No agreement has yet been reached between Parma and Juventus, but the Japanese keeper appears interested. Suzuki remains under contract with Parma, the Gialloblu, until 2030, and is valued by the club at roughly €35 million.
During the 2025‑26 campaign Suzuki made 22 appearances, kept six clean sheets and conceded 30 goals. The contrasting approaches underline a market trend: PSG are willing to invest in potential, while Juventus seek an immediate solution after missing out on Martínez.
