Portugal wins eighth Mundialito crown with Brazilian support
Portugal had already secured its part in the competition by defeating Paraguay 11‑8 earlier the same day, at the Beach Soccer Mundialito.
Brazil secures the win over Spain
The Brazilian national team overcame Spain on Sunday afternoon, scoring three goals – Rodrigo, Felipe Silva and António – which were decisive for Portugal's title.
The Spaniards opened the scoring quickly with a goal from Gatica, but Felipe and Gin responded still in the first half, neutralising the early advantage.
In the second half, the Brazilian momentum persisted, with Gin scoring again and Benjamin Jr. finding the net twice.
Chiky Ardil scored a solitary goal in the last twelve minutes, but it did not change the South‑American advantage that Portugal had already secured.
Individual performances and awards
In the final period, Spain relied on Ardil twice, completing a hat‑trick, and Ramy Saghadani with a goal, while Brazil closed with three goals.
Chiky Ardil was the tournament’s top scorer with six goals; Léo Martins and Duarte Algarvio were on the podium with five and four goals, respectively, and Rúben Brilhante was named MVP.
Seven years later, under the night sky of Cádiz, Portugal became champion of the Beach Soccer Mundialito again, as highlighted by the message “Portugal ARE THE MUNDIALITO … 2026 CHAMPIONS”.
