Pietro Conte Napoli Club of Valencia honors Albiol
During the broadcast of Sempre Con Te on Radio Napoli Centrale, Pietro Conte, president of Napoli Club Valencia “Raul Albiol”, recounted how he founded the supporters' group in Valencia, where they now have 43 members and watch the matches together.
The birth of the club in Valencia
Before creating the club, Conte admits he suffered from the distance from Napoli, adding that he experienced the first Scudetto “very badly” by watching the live streams on Facebook. He left Italy seven years ago, when he was in Turin, and started working as a cameraman for Sky.
Today he lives in Spain because he loves Valencia; he works with Spanish national television channels and has found friends with whom to share his passion for Napoli. The club was christened “Raul Albiol” in honor of the only Valencian player to have worn the blue shirt, considered among the best defenders in the history of the national team.
Organization and future prospects
The club’s name quickly spread the word among supporters, growing from a few to a community of 43 members who split between the headquarters and the stadium, with the distance between Valencia and Napoli being about a 40‑minute drive. Conte plans to work at the stadium, with the youngsters rotating between the headquarters and the facility, before heading to the airport.
Regarding Allegri’s Napoli, Conte says that initially he wasn’t enthusiastic, but now he is “pro‑Allegri”, comparing it to Garcia’s Napoli. He explains that opening a Napoli club abroad only requires five or six friends, basically a WhatsApp group, and recalls watching the matches at the Soccavo pub with his friends.
The UANM organization has been essential in making the members feel closer to Napoli, strengthening the bond between the city of Naples and the Valencian community.
