Pedro ends his career with a record of trophies and 889 appearances

At 39, the Spanish striker Pedro Eliezer Rodríguez Ledesma, who became a free agent after leaving Lazio, announced his retirement from professional football, closing a career of 889 official matches, 218 goals and 106 assists.

Trophies and records

His honours include five La Liga titles, three Champions League titles, one Europa League, one Premier League, one World Cup and one European Championship with Spain, as well as numerous national and international cups and super cups.

Journey from Barcelona to Rome and Lazio

From Barcelona to Chelsea, then to Italy: first Roma, then in 2021 the direct move to Lazio, a rare choice in the football history of the capital.

In 2009, under Pep Guardiola, Pedro scored in six different competitions, a feat matched only by Lionel Messi, winning the Spanish Super Cup, the European victory against Shakhtar and the Club World Cup, contributing to the blaugrana sextuple.

In Serie A he continued to make an impact, reading the spaces and finding the goal in crucial moments, demonstrating the same effectiveness that had distinguished him in Spain.

Now he returns to Tenerife, where it all began, leaving football with a career hard to replicate for its consistency, influence in big games and number of trophies won.

Pedro remains one of the most decisive and, at the same time, most underrated players of his generation.
