Parrott leads Betis's eleven at the Cartuja against Porto

Troy Parrott returns to the spearhead of Real Betis's attack in the first home match in the Champions League in 21 years, played at La Cartuja against FC Porto. The Irish striker, who returned after a break with Ireland where he showed a great performance, will start under the direction of Manuel Pellegrini.

Preparation of Pellegrini and possible changes

Manuel Pellegrini is preparing a lineup with several changes compared to the last league match, according to sports journalist Marc Bartra, who also forms part of the four defenders of the probable eleven. The squad of 25 players performs at a level that makes it difficult to distinguish starters from substitutes, and the club will make the final list public a few hours before the match.

Ez Abde repeats on the left wing despite the 92 minutes he played against Osasuna. On the right, Antony will start if his physical condition holds; the ailment that prevented him from finishing the last match turned out to be a scare and he completed the session with the group on Tuesday. If Antony is not available, Pablo Fornals will take that wing.

Options in midfield and defense

The central midfield could be left to Deossa or Dani Ceballos, although the competition is high. The most managed option is the pair of Facundo Bernal, who provides physicality and containment, and Pablo Fornals, who offers energy and good ball handling. Nelson Deossa is also not ruled out and fits into a back‑and‑forth clash.

Álvaro Valles will remain between the posts, as no one is considering rotating the goalkeeper in a match of such magnitude. The defense includes Héctor Bellerín, Natan, Marc Bartra and Fran García; Junior Firpo is injured and Aitor Ruibal will not be present, although he continues training. Iker Losada is left out for technical reasons, and the final discard from the list could be one of the three goalkeepers, Morante or Álvaro Fidalgo.

With those absences accounted for, Betis's probable eleven would be: Valles; Bellerín, Bartra, Natan, Fran García; Bernal, Fornals, Isco; Antony, Abde and Parrott.
