Osasuna fires Luis Miguel Ramis, rehires Jagoba Arrasate
In the corridors of La Nueva Balastera stadium, the announcement rang out like a thunderclap: Osasuna's management officially announced, under the Official League label, the dismissal of Luis Miguel Ramis only three months after his arrival at the helm of the club.
Change of management at Osasuna
Luis Miguel Ramis was solemnly removed from his position as head coach, a decision taken to reverse the unfavorable results curve. The board of directors deemed the change essential to revive the team.
To address this urgency, the club recalled Jagoba Arrasate, an emblematic figure of CA Osasuna. Arrasate, 46 years old, returns to the bench he occupied successfully between 2018 and 2024, after being out of a job since his dismissal from RCD Mallorca in February 2026.
During his first spell, he managed the greatest number of matches in the modern history of the club, ranking second behind the historic record. His tenure left a tactical imprint appreciated by the supporters.
The new contract runs until 30 June 2029, covering the remainder of the current season and two additional seasons. The club stated: “The second coach who has managed the greatest number of matches in the club’s history returns to the club to sign a contract covering the remainder of the current season and two additional seasons.”
Jagoba Arrasate will again be able to count on Bittor Alkiza as assistant coach. This continuity aims to strengthen the cohesion of the technical staff.
CA Osasuna hopes to regain the tactical stability and ambition that characterised Arrasate’s first spell. The supporters expect a swift turnaround in performances.
