Opoku’s confidence fuels Swansea’s bid against Sheffield United

Ghanaian attacker Joseph Opoku has pledged that his Swansea City side will secure victory in their upcoming English Championship meeting with Sheffield United, after the winger helped the team overturn a deficit to beat Stoke City 2‑1 on the Saturday.

Opoku was in action for his new club on Saturday, scoring an important goal that sparked the comeback win over Stoke City. The 2‑1 result marked a successful opening‑week performance for Swansea City in the English Championship.

After the match, the Ghanaian forward praised the supporters, saying, “The fans are just amazing fans, especially travelling all this way on the opening day to watch us,” and added, “I’m really happy for them, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere.”

Looking ahead, Opoku said, “We are really looking forward to next week now, and hopefully we can go and win again,” as he prepares for the Week 2 fixture against Sheffield United.The side will travel to the clash on Saturday, August 22.
