One‑year deal sees Andrea Belotti head to Modena in Serie B

One‑year deal sees Andrea Belotti head to Modena in Serie B

A one‑year contract has been secured by 32‑year‑old Andrea Belotti, the ex‑Torino and Italy forward, as he prepares to join Serie B side Modena on a free transfer. The deal, confirmed by Tuttosport, will see the striker undergo a medical on Tuesday before training with the Gialloblu.

Medical check and first training

Belotti arrived in Modena on Monday evening. Assuming his medical results are satisfactory, he will report for his first training session with the Gialloblu on Tuesday under head coach Paolo Mandelli.

The 32‑year‑old, who turns 33 in December, is seeking to rebuild after a difficult spell at Cagliari, where a serious knee injury halted his progress. The former ITALY striker hopes the move will revitalise his career.

Belotti suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in Sardinia, underwent surgery and only returned to action towards the end of last season, after which Cagliari chose not to renew his contract, leaving him a free agent.

The transfer marks his first appearance in Serie B for twelve years, having previously featured in the division with Albinoleffe and Palermo early in his career.

Belotti hopes to rediscover his best form and to help Modena mount a strong campaign in the upcoming season.

The free‑transfer signing underscores how Serie B clubs are capitalising on experienced forwards who become available after contract expiries, adding quality without transfer fees. The announcement came in MAY, and a photo of Belotti taken in Verona earlier this month was widely circulated.
