One‑match ban sends Zulte Waregem coach Michael Beale to the stands
Zulte Waregem coach Michael Beale will serve a one‑match suspension, sitting in the stands for the home game against Beveren, after being sent off by referee Lothar D’Hondt during a visit to Union last week; the club announced Thursday evening it will not appeal the ban.
The club, officially known as Essevee, confirmed the decision on Thursday evening and said it will not lodge an appeal against the disciplinary ruling.
De Engelsman Michael Beale was dismissed last week when he visited Union, with referee Lothar D’Hondt showing him a red card and sending him off the pitch.
He issued his first public comment on the incident just days before Zulte Waregem's home match against Beveren, acknowledging the misunderstanding that has dominated the club’s headlines this week.
