Old Trafford eyes Arsenal defender as English champions prepare spend

Manchester United are investigating whether a deal for Arsenal's Myles Lewis‑Skelly is possible. The club also press on with attempts to sign Lewis Hall from Newcastle United.

The Old Trafford hierarchy have long‑standing interest in Lewis‑Skelly and are aiming to see whether Arsenal would do business, given the English champions’ plan to spend big over the next few weeks.

A move was mooted last season when Lewis‑Skelly spent long periods out of Arsenal’s lineup, but a late‑season revival has raised his profile.

The youngster started the Champions League final against Paris Saint‑Germain and supplied crucial energy in the closing stages to clinch the title.

Arsenal prefer to retain him, yet the situation could shift if the champions complete expected deals for Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Junior.

Lewis Hall would arrive as an eight, capable of pressing that could free Vinicius should that sensational transfer materialise.

Arsenal will also need to balance ins and outs, listening to offers for Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Viktor Gyokeres, while Christian Norgaard is set to join Everton; however, Lewis‑Skelly is not among the players they are actively looking to sell.

United remain hopeful of securing Hall, who is open to the prospect amid a tumultuous summer for Newcastle United as the owners reassess their strategy, though finalising a deal would still require a lot.
