Official Circati transfer: Benfica Parma deal worth €18m plus add‑ons
Parma have sold Australian international Alessandro Circati to Benfica for a reported €18 million plus €2 million in add‑ons. The 22‑year‑old completed his medical in Portugal and signed a contract that runs until June 2031.
Deal and contract details
The deal was announced earlier this week. Circati flew to Portugal for his medical examinations yesterday, clearing any fitness concerns.
Benfica secured the defender on a long‑term contract. The agreement binds him to the club until June 2031 after he passed the medical without issues.
Parma will receive approximately €18 million upfront. The club could also earn up to an additional €2 million in performance‑related add‑ons.
Circati’s career and international profile
Born in Italy, Circati moved to Australia with his family at the age of one. He later joined the Perth Glory youth academy before returning to Italy in February 2021 to sign for Parma.
He represented Italy at various youth levels before switching allegiance to Australia in 2023. Since his senior debut, he has earned 17 caps, scored one goal and featured in the 2026 World Cup for the Socceroos.
During his time at Parma Calcio 1913, Circati made 96 competitive appearances. He scored twice and provided three assists for the Ducali.
