Nkunku's Hattrick lands Leipzig in Transfermarkt team of the week

Under the floodlights at the Red Bull Arena, Christopher Nkunku completed a first‑half hat‑trick as RB Leipzig thumped Eintracht Frankfurt 6‑0, a feat that sent him soaring to the top of the Transfermarkt Community vote for the Spieltages Nkunkus team of the week.

Historic Leipzig hat‑trick

Nach der 5. Bundesliga‑Runde Nkunku became the first Leipzig player to record a hat‑trick in Bundesliga history, and he did so entirely in the opening half. Earlier Leipzig hat‑tricks by Timo Werner, Yussuf Poulsen and Yan Diomande all featured goals spread across both halves. Diomande’s previous three‑goal haul also came against Eintracht Frankfurt in a 6‑0 win, but Nkunku’s rapid succession placed him 343rd on the list of the fastest hat‑tricks ever recorded.

Community vote highlights four Leipzig players

The Transfermarkt Community selected Vier Leipzig players for the team of the fifth matchday, rewarding Nkunku’s brilliance alongside wing‑forward Antonio Nusa and midfield dynamo Ezechiel Banzuzi, each credited with one goal and one assist. Coach Martin Demichelis edged Daniel Thioune in a Kopf‑an‑Kopf‑Rennen to claim the coach’s spot, underscoring Leipzig’s dominance in the voting.

Goalkeeper Karl Hein attracted the most votes, edging out Leipzig’s Maarten Vandevoordt, while Augsburg’s Finn Dahmen also appeared among the fan‑chosen keepers.

Representatives from other clubs also earned places: Robin Fellhauer of FCA scored the fastest Bundesliga goal after eight seconds, capitalising on a Manuel Neuer error; Said El Mala netted the winner for Köln in the Rheinisches Derby; Miro Muheim added a goal and an assist for HSV in Hoffenheim; Anthony Caci recorded two strikes for Mainz against Leverkusen; Angelo Stiller supplied double assists for Stuttgart after a 2‑0 win over Paderborn; and Jeff Chabot and Maximilian Mittelstädt featured among the defenders.

Leistungsdaten show Banzuzi’s season tally of five Bundesliga appearances, one goal and two assists, while Stiller’s record lists five games, no goals and two assists, reflecting their growing influence in their respective squads.
