Next leak makes HSV hesitate over Bayern idol Alaba

Another leak makes Hamburger SV doubt a possible move of Bayern idol David Alaba (34), because the club fears the high salary demands of the Austrian star, while Ralf Rangnick, sporting director of HSV, examines the options and Alaba, according to Transfermarkt journalist Florian Plettenberg, trains daily and has not yet made a decision.

Contractless Stars at a Glance

The Wiener Kronen‑Zeitung published a “World selection of free agents” consisting of eight stars, including the 26‑year‑old Dortmund player Jadon Sancho (Aston Villa) after Alaba’s last mandatory match at the World Cup in the USA and a BVB candidate who is not supposed to return to the Strobelallee for the third time. Other names include Sergio Ramos (40), Karim Benzema (38) and Mauro Icardi (33). This is not the first time such lists have caused a stir.

Hamburger SV sits at the bottom of the Bundesliga table after three matchdays without a point and with twelve goals conceded, which fuels the discussion about expensive new signings. The club fears Alaba’s high salary demands and those of his agent Pini Zahavi.

"There were offers from Spain and Italy, but not a single club has turned him down," said Transfermarkt journalist Florian Plettenberg (38) from Sky Sport. He downplayed the HSV rumor and emphasized that a return to the Bundesliga is currently not even a topic.

Plettenberg added that Alaba trains daily, is very motivated and is not yet thinking about ending his career. The 34‑year‑old Austrian legend wants to achieve something else before he contemplates a farewell.
