NEC Nijmegen eye Danish winger Clement Bischoff as Önal replacement

NEC Nijmegen are on the brink of completing a loan for 20‑year‑old Danish winger Clement Bischoff from RB Salzburg, with an option to buy built into the agreement, VI report. The deal will see the player join last season's Eredivisie surprise package as they prepare for a European qualification push.

Bischoff only joined RB Salzburg in 2025 after leaving Danish side Bronby, where he logged 55 appearances, scored three goals and supplied nine assists.

During his first full season with RB Salzburg, the youngster featured in 24 matches, netting two goals and providing four assists.

NEC Nijmegen have identified the RB Leipzig youngster as the ideal successor to Basar Önal, especially after Lille offered NEC a record fee for one of their star men.

With a European qualification campaign looming next month, NEC are bolstering their squad to compete on multiple fronts.

The club has already added former Borussia Dortmund winger Emre Mor on a free transfer after his release by Fenerbahçe this past summer.

For RB Salzburg, loaning Bischoff provides the Danish winger with regular playing time while the club retains the option to bring him back or sell him permanently.
