Nearly 2,000 in Las Rozas before the Spain‑England duel at Wembley

The Spanish national team held its first training session since the World Cup triumph, in front of a crowd of about two thousand people in Las Rozas, a suburb of Madrid, as it prepares to face England on Saturday night at Wembley.

A massive crowd in Las Rozas

Supporters arrived from 1 p.m. at the Ciudad del Futbol in Las Rozas and waited nearly six hours in the heat to see their heroes step onto the pitch in the evening. Some had to stay at the door of the “Spanish Clairefontaine” due to lack of space. The attendance was described as a “real sea of fans.”

In the stands, jerseys of Lamine Yamal, Aymeric Laporte, Pedri, Marc Cucurella and even Xabi Alonso were spotted for the nostalgic fans. Rodri was the first to receive an ovation, proof that one can play for Barça and be cheered near the capital. Other players such as Pedri and Cucurella were also chanted.

Twenty‑one World Cup champions took part in the training, one fewer than expected, full‑back Pedro Porro being absent and replaced by Ivan Fresneda. This lineup reflects the staff’s last‑minute adjustments.
