Nations League: the Oranje meets Serbia on 27 September in Belgrade

The Dutch national team plays, after the duel with Germany, directly against Serbia in the Nations League, a confrontation that takes place on Sunday 27 September at 18:00 at the Rajko Mitic Stadium in Belgrade.

First meeting in the international match period

For the Oranje this is the second match in an XL‑international match period, which lasts a week longer than usual. In addition to Germany, the team also plays against Greece and again against Serbia.

Location and capacity

The stadium, home of Red Star Belgrade, accommodates over 55,000 spectators, guaranteeing an atmospheric setting for both teams.

Group structure and importance

The Netherlands and Serbia are in a group with Greece and Germany; each team meets the others twice. The first and second places in the group advance to the knockout stage, and the group winner can provide an advantage in the Euro qualification.

Historically, the Netherlands has faced Serbia only once before, in 2006 when the country was still called Serbia and Montenegro. That match took place at the 2006 World Cup in Leipzig, where the Oranje won 1‑0 thanks to a goal from Arjen Robben.
