Napoli watches Coulibaly: heated transfer market, strong competition

Napoli have added the young French midfielder Mamadou Coulibaly, born in 2002, from Monaco, to their watchlist as the next transfer windows approach. The news comes from Fussball News, which confirmed the interest of the Neapolitan club. From Germany, where the newspaper gathered the information, there is also the presence of other potential buyers.

Interest from multiple European clubs

In addition to Napoli, Atletico Madrid, Brentford and Newcastle United have also been mentioned as interested in the player. At the moment none of the clubs have made an official offer, but the first inquiries are expected ahead of the winter transfer window.

Player profile and financial obstacles

Coulibaly is described as left‑footed, endowed with great physicality and able to play both in the central role and on the right flank, providing good insertion ability. These qualities have attracted Napoli's attention, which is seeking reinforcements for the midfield.

Monaco, however, values the midfielder between €35 million and €40 million and intends to extend his contract until 2030. This strategy makes a departure during the winter market unlikely, despite the clubs' continued interest.

Napoli, aware of the high valuation, will continue to monitor Coulibaly's development, hoping to find a favourable solution before the end of winter.

In the meantime, competition remains intense and negotiations could be prolonged, with the Neapolitan club ready to step in if conditions change.

The transfer market therefore remains an open battlefield, where Napoli will have to balance the desire for a purchase with Monaco's financial demands and the pressure from other interested clubs.
