Napoli’s outcast Lang sparks bidding war as Ajax and Galatasaray close in
Dutch winger Noa Lang is still listed for sale by Napoli, prompting Ajax and Galatasaray to reach out as the club looks to move the peripheral player after his return to Naples on 30 June. Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s sporting director, confirmed the inquiries in the past 24 hours, while Atalanta also expressed interest last week.
According to Sky Sport, via CalcioMercato, both Ajax and Galatasaray have approached Manna within the last day, signalling a rapid escalation in pursuit of the Dutch international.
Interest from multiple clubs
Atalanta entered the race last week, making their own move for Lang after the winger’s loan spell ended. The Italian side’s approach adds a third contender to the emerging market for the player.
Loan proposals vs outright sale
So far, none of the three suitors have gone beyond proposing a loan, at most with an obligation to buy, a structure that falls short of Napoli’s preference for an outright sale. The club’s stance creates a clear obstacle for Ajax, Galatasaray and Atalanta.

Lang returned to Naples on 30 June after a six‑month loan at Galatasaray, but remains peripheral to Massimiliano Allegri’s plans and has continued to be shopped around by the club.
A move back to Turkey would reunite Lang with Galatasaray, and reports suggest it would likely close the door on the Turkish club’s parallel pursuit of AC Milan’s Rafael Leao. The photo from MILAN, ITALY – MAY 24 shows Leao on the bench for the Serie A match against Cagliari Calcio.
Both Ajax and Galatasaray are therefore weighing the benefit of securing a proven Dutch winger against the need to meet Napoli’s demand for a full transfer. Until an outright deal is offered, the negotiations are expected to remain in limbo.

Napoli continues to shop Lang, and the clubs interested will have to decide whether to match the Italian side’s terms or risk losing the player to another market.
