Napoli chase free‑agent Dani Ceballos as Juventus linger

Napoli have formally approached 30‑year‑old Spaniard Dani Ceballos, the former Real Madrid and Arsenal midfielder who became a free agent after his lengthy spell at Real Madrid, as they look to bolster Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield for the upcoming Serie A campaign.

Juventus also eye Ceballos

Juventus are also monitoring Ceballos amid the Napoli links. The Bianconeri are not currently prioritising him, although their management retained interest after considering a move last summer.

According to Sportal, the Partenopei have already submitted an offer to Ceballos’ representatives. The midfielder became a free agent after his lengthy spell at Real Madrid, meaning Napoli can pursue him without a transfer fee.

Ceballos, 30, is also in contact with Real Betis, the club where he developed before moving to Real Madrid in 2017. This contact keeps his options open in Spain.

Napoli push for Serie A signing

Napoli are pushing strongly to convince the Spain international to continue his career in Serie A. Allegri’s ambitions to compete on multiple fronts this season make Ceballos’ high‑level experience an attractive addition.

Massimiliano Allegri was presented as Napoli’s new head coach on July 14, 2026, in Naples. His recent appointment underscores the club’s intent to reinforce the squad quickly.

If Ceballos’ representatives respond positively, Napoli could finalise the free‑agent signing promptly, taking advantage of his availability. The club hopes the experienced Spaniard will bolster their midfield depth.
