Napoli chase free‑agent Ceballos, former Real and Arsenal midfielder

Napoli chase free‑agent Ceballos, former Real and Arsenal midfielder

Napoli have reportedly made an approach for Dani Ceballos, the 30‑year‑old Spaniard who left Real Madrid and previously played for Arsenal as a free agent, as they aim to bolster Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield ahead of the new Serie A season. The club have already submitted an offer to his representatives, hoping to secure his services before Juventus can intervene.

Napoli submit free‑agent offer

According to Sportal, the Partenopei have already submitted an offer to Ceballos’ representatives after he became a free agent following his lengthy spell at Real Madrid. The club hope the deal can be finalised before any rival moves.

Ceballos, 30, is also in contact with Real Betis, the club where he developed before moving to Real Madrid in 2017. A return to his former side would bring him back to La Liga, but he has expressed interest in remaining in Italy.

Napoli are pushing strongly to convince the Spain international to continue his career in Serie A. The midfielder’s experience at the highest level makes him an attractive option for Allegri, particularly given Napoli’s ambitions to compete on multiple fronts this season.

Juventus also monitor Ceballos

Juventus are also monitoring Ceballos amid Napoli links. The Spaniard is reportedly not currently a priority for the Bianconeri, although Sportal Juventus’ management have retained an interest in him, having already considered a move for him last summer.

Juventus’ immediate focus remains elsewhere, meaning Napoli could have an opportunity to move ahead in the race. The lack of a transfer fee further strengthens Napoli’s position.

With Ceballos now available without a transfer fee, Napoli’s interest could develop quickly if the player’s representatives respond positively to their proposal. The Partenopei are therefore attempting to take advantage of the midfielder’s free‑agent status and secure another experienced addition to Allegri’s squad.
