Napoli and Arsenal observe a minute of silence for Nepal, A‑ A+

Before the Napoli-Arsenal match, UEFA announced that, throughout this week’s UEFA Champions League, a minute of silence will be observed and a banner will be displayed in solidarity with the victims of the devastating floods that struck Nepal on August 26.

The banner will carry the message “You are not alone Nepal” (in Italian “Non sei solo, Nepal”). The statement also includes the sequence Nepal" as a reference to the affected country.

Press A− A+ European football will pay tribute to the victims, emphasizing the importance of a collective gesture from the entire football family.

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said: “Before this week’s matches, the entire European football family will come together to express our deepest condolences and support to the people of Nepal, whom we wish strength and resilience as they continue to recover from this tragedy and its aftermath.”

The minute of silence will be observed before all this week’s UEFA Champions League matches, including the Napoli-Arsenal clash, to remember the victims and show solidarity with Nepal.
