Nach Eklat in Girona, Ajax Amsterdam unveiled 28‑year‑old Ukrainian forward Viktor Tsygankov on Thursday, signing him to a contract running until 2029. In a statement, Girona said the incident had damaged Tsygankov’s reputation and professional commitment. The club now acknowledges an amicable separation, allowing the player to leave.

The modest fee contrasts with earlier Girona demanded considerably more from interested clubs such as Celta Vigo. Ajax’s willingness to meet the lower price underscores their urgency to secure the Ukrainian international.
