Musiala’s collapse and two injuries mar Bayern’s friendly win

Bayern Munich’s 3-1 friendly triumph over RB Leipzig on Saturday was marred by a health scare when midfielder Jamal Musiala collapsed on the pitch and was taken off, while teammates Konrad Laimer and defender Minjae Kim also left the game with injuries.

Musiala collapse sparks concern

Musiala fell without any apparent contact, prompting Ismael Saibari to rush and catch the Germany international just before he hit the ground, while Joshua Kimmich also ran to his side. Bayern’s medical staff entered the field promptly, a stretcher was brought out, and after several minutes of treatment Musiala got to his feet and left the pitch with the team doctor’s assistance.

Board member for sport Max Eberl later updated on Musiala’s condition, stating, “The most important thing is that he’s doing well.” An official medical assessment has yet to be confirmed.

Later in the first half, Konrad Laimer suffered a right‑thigh issue after a challenge, received on‑field treatment and was substituted, with a precise diagnosis still pending.

In the second half, centre‑back Minjae Kim sat down on the field due to a thigh problem, was treated, and was replaced by Hiroki Ito.

Minutes before his collapse, Musiala had scored to make the score 3-1 in soaring temperatures in Munich, sealing Bayern’s comfortable win over RB Leipzig.
