Musiala Collapses as heat overwhelms Bayern‑Leipzig friendly
Jamal Musiala collapsed during Bayern Munich’s pre‑season Friendly Game with RB Leipzig at the Allianz Arena on Saturday, with temperatures soaring to 33 degrees, Daily Express reports. The incident occurred in the closing stages of a match that saw Bayern score three goals.
During the second half Musiala, a substitute, found the net to make Bayern’s third goal. Not long after celebrating, he appeared unsteady on his feet as the heat took its toll, prompting immediate concern from teammates.
Heat and the Collapse
Both Saibari and Joshua Kimmich rushed to his side as Musiala struggled to stay upright. Saibari, who had just made his debut for Bayern after transferring from PSV Eindhoven, was the first to notice the player’s distress.
The two teammates gently lowered Musiala to the ground, while medical staff arrived within seconds. A thumbs‑up from a medic signalled that treatment was underway and that the situation was under control.
Medical Response and Aftermath
Musiala was able to rise and leave the pitch, escorted by Bayern’s medical team, and was replaced by Bara Sapoko Ndiaye. The quick response allowed him to avoid further injury and continue his recovery.
The match ended with Bayern emerging as 3‑1 victors, thanks to goals from Luis Diaz, Nathaniel Brown and Musiala, the latter’s strike set up by Saibari. Saibari’s debut highlighted his seamless integration after representing Morocco at the World Cup.
Speaking in the mixed zone after the win, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl confirmed, “The most important thing, he’s doing well!” reinforcing optimism around Musiala’s health.
