Munich lands 2028 Champions League final, Barcelona set for 2029

On Tuesday UEFA confirmed that the Munich Football Arena will stage the 2028 UCL final, while Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou is slated to host the 2029 showdown, cementing both venues as the focal points of European club football for the next two seasons.

UEFA also disclosed the venues for the Europa League and Conference League finals. The 2028 Europa League final will be played at the National Arena in Bucharest, while the 2029 edition moves to the National Stadium in Belgrade. In the Conference League, Juventus Stadium in Turin will host the 2028 final and Budapest’s Puskás Arena will stage the 2029 climax.

Barcelona’s Spotify Camp Nou returns to the Champions League stage, having previously welcomed the final in 1989 and again in 1999. The Portuguese release of the schedule even prefaced the list with the word “Na”, meaning “in”, and referred to the events as “finais”. This marks the stadium’s third appearance in the competition’s premier showcase.

The selections underline UEFA’s intent to rotate marquee events across major football markets, giving Munich and Barcelona the chance to showcase their modern facilities to a global audience. Both cities will therefore host the pinnacle of European club football in consecutive years, reinforcing the UCL’s status as the continent’s flagship tournament.
