Adam Pretty/GettyImages – The awarding of the Ballon d’Or is, year after year, one of the most important dates on the football calendar.
Even before the event, there is heated debate about who will claim the World Footballer title. With Harry Kane, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi or Michael Olise, there are especially many candidates this year who are in contention for the coveted trophy.
At the gala on 26 October in London, in addition to the Golden Ball, further awards will be presented, including the Kopa‑trophy for the best young player, the Yashin‑trophy for the strongest goalkeeper and the Gerd‑Müller‑trophy for the most accurate scorer.
