Mourinho shuts the door on Endrick despite interest from Lyon and Rome
José Mourinho said that the Brazilian prodigy Endrick will not leave Real Madrid this winter, stating “Endrick will not leave, I love him”. This decision comes as the young striker has only accumulated four brief minutes of play since the start of the season.
A negligible amount of playing time and a heavy financial price tag
Arriving in Madrid with the label of a phenomenon, Endrick carries the pressure of a €47 million transfer. Despite this price, he struggles to establish himself in the squad, seeing only a few minutes on the pitch.
European clubs in the running, but the door remains closed
As the winter transfer window approaches, several clubs have shown interest. Olympique Lyonnais could have looked into the case, while AS Rome positioned itself to try to attract the young striker in January.
A six‑month loan scenario was gaining traction, fueled by Endrick’s limited usage and rumors of an exit.
Asked by TNT Sport Brazil, Mourinho brushed aside the Roman hopes: “Anyone who wants to sign him in January will have to get past me and fight against me”. He added that the loan would not be necessary, predicting that the Brazilian “will explode here in Madrid”.
The Portuguese coach reiterated his affection for the player: “Endrick will not leave, I love him. He is very strong and will be a valuable help to us”. This statement leaves little room for negotiation.
As the winter transfer window approaches, Real Madrid therefore keeps Endrick in its squad, while interested clubs will have to wait for a possible future opportunity.
