Mourinho bets everything on Mbappé‑Vinicius chemistry to revive the Blancos

In the Real Madrid dressing room, José Mourinho watches his players after a surprising defeat to Betis, but rejoices at a hard‑won victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League. He says the chemistry between Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior will be the key to the season.

Mixed start to the season

Despite this turnaround, Mourinho’s Real Madrid remains in a period of adjustment. The players work each training session to regain consistency. The club hopes to stabilise its performances.

Mourinho bets on chemistry

In the long term, the relationship between Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Júnior will be decisive. Since the arrival of the captain of the French national team, the two forwards have struggled to coexist and have shown individual rather than collective performances.

Vinícius, Brazilian, is still in Mourinho’s plans. Although the player could have left the club this summer, he extended his contract and must remain a key figure. The Portuguese coach counts on him to energise the attack.

According to journalist Tomas Roncero, Mourinho’s main objective is to make the duo work. “Some doubted it, because they said that with everything happening with Vinícius, Mourinho might even consider putting him on the bench at some point, as Xabi Alonso had done. But it’s exactly the opposite,” he said on the programme El Larguero.

Roncero added that the coach “constantly monitors Vini, truly supports him, and does not just pat him on the back.” He concluded: “His main goal is for him to finally find good chemistry with Mbappé, because Bellingham’s talent is undeniable.”
