Mitchell Dijks eyes a fresh start in Europa with CD Eldense
Mitchell Dijks, the former Ajax and Bologna defender, has resurfaced in Europa, training with the Spaanse second‑division side CD Eldense, signalling a possible return after a spell without a club following his departure from Nam Dinh FC in Vietnam earlier this season.
Vandaag om 15:07 the update was posted, noting that the news broke on Monday as a special transfer story.
Dijks left Fortuna Sittard last season when the club, after mutual discussion, terminated his contract in August.
He then embarked on a project in Vietnam but managed only nine matches in Azië before deciding to move on.
The player said he struggled with the climate in Vietnam and chose not to extend his stay.
He is currently training with CD Eldense, a club that competes at the second level of Spanish football, though it remains unclear whether he will sign a contract.
Dijks’s résumé includes spells at Ajax, Heerenveen, Willem II, Norwich City, Bologna, Vitesse, Fortuna Sittard and Nam Dinh FC.
If a deal materialises, CD Eldense would add another distinctive name to the defender’s varied club list.
