Milan to offload Santiago Gimenez as Fiorentina and Lazio vie
AC Milan have confirmed that Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez will be allowed to leave this summer, with Serie A rivals Fiorentina and Lazio both circling the forward as potential destinations. The club have placed him on the transfer list, and his agent Rafaela Pimenta is already seeking a new home.
Daniele Longo reported that the striker is on Milan’s transfer list and would be a third‑choice behind Goncalo Ramos and Francesco Camarda.
His recent season was marred by major fitness problems, which have hampered his form and raised doubts about his readiness.
Fiorentina have made initial contact and view Gimenez as a possible replacement for Moise Kean.
Lazio also express strong interest, but they must complete a sale before signing the Mexican forward, and the Roman side believes its setting could appeal to him.
Milan are prepared to let him go on an initial loan that includes an obligation to buy, according to his representative.
Gimenez has never consistently delivered value for Milan and never fit into the plans even when Max Allegri was in charge.
With the forward listed as a third‑choice and his fitness in doubt, Milan appear ready to move on, while the player is reportedly eager to find a new club.
