Milan targets Leny Yoro, Mendes pushes for Manchester
In the hallway of the Milan sports centre, Milan is reviewing the profile of Leny Yoro, a centre‑back of Manchester United, while agent Jorge Mendes is pushing for the transfer. The red‑and‑black club wants to offer Ruben Amorim a defensive reinforcement, valuing the young Frenchman at €50 million.
The latest transfer window did not bring the much‑awaited defensive reinforcement. The most persistent rumours concerned Gonçalo Inacio of Sporting Lisbon and Tiago Gabriel of Milan, but the club had to settle for the current squad, which includes Winter, Gabbia, Pavlovic, Gila and the last‑minute return of Tomori.
The profile of Leny Yoro
Yoro, born in 2005, is a French centre‑back who played for Lille before joining Manchester United. The English club bought him for €62 million in 2024, but his experience is limited to a few appearances. Amorim values him because he has already worked with him at Old Trafford.

Milan's valuation and spending capacity
For the red‑and‑black side, a valuation of €50 million for Yoro is being discussed, a high figure but not beyond the reach of president Gerry Cardinale. Cardinale has already shown he can support significant outlays, with the purchase of Gonçalo Ramos from PSG for €75 million and Diego Moreira from Strasbourg for €65 million, bonuses included.
Manchester UNITED would be willing to let YORO go because, in the two full seasons at his disposal, he has failed to solidify the Red Devils' defence. He has made only two Premier League appearances, one in the Champions League and one in the Carabao Cup, remaining on the bench in three other league matches.

Mendes, who also manages Inacio and Gabriel, could push for a transfer in the next transfer window, while Milan appears keen to resume negotiations in January, despite the presence of Winter, Gabbia, Pavlovic, Gila and Tomori in the squad.
