Milan seeks to sign Gonçalo Inácio for €35 million

AC Milan, under the direction of Ruben Amorim, continues to negotiate the signing of defender Gonçalo Inácio from Sporting, with an estimated fee between €30 and €35 million, and hopes to finalize the deal in the market still in January.

Reason for the pursuit of Inácio

According to Calciomercato, AC Milan is in contact with Sporting and intends to close the deal still in January. The estimated fee is between €30 and €35 million for defender Gonçalo Inácio. The Italian club believes the player can strengthen the left back position.

Ruben Amorim's AC Milan did not manage to complete the purchase in the summer market, but has not abandoned the intention. Management continues to analyse alternatives, among which Nikola Milenković of Nottingham Forest is highlighted.

For the Rossoneri, the Serbian represents a financially more affordable option than Sporting's defender. Nottingham Forest would hardly agree to release Milenković for around €28 million.

Gonçalo Inácio has been the target of criticism in this early part of the season at Sporting, culminating in a self‑goal that secured a draw for Famalicão in the last round of the Primeira Liga. The incident increased the pressure on the young full‑back.

Despite the criticism, the player was called up by Jorge Jesus this Thursday, marking the first call of the new Portugal manager. The call‑up indicates that the national team still sees value in Inácio's talent.

If the deal is completed, AC Milan will gain a defensive reinforcement for the next season, while Sporting will be able to collect a significant amount to reinvest in the squad. Both parties remain attentive to the unfolding of the negotiations.
