Milan eye Markus Krosche for the new Head of Football role
In the heart of Turin, in front of the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, president Gerry Cardinale watches the Serie A match while his mind is already focused on a structural reorganization: Milan wants to create a Head of Football role and has already identified Markus Krosche as the main candidate.
Negotiations Already Underway
According to several sources, including Matteo Moretto, MilanNews and Calciomercato, Krosche is at the top of the Rossoneri's wish list. Negotiations were already advanced several months ago, but were temporarily suspended; nevertheless, the parties have not broken contact and could conclude within the current season.
The Profile of Markus Krosche
Krosche, current sporting director of Eintracht Frankfurt, has a career that ranges from the youth midfield of Werder Bremen to the management of clubs such as Paderborn, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and, finally, Eintracht Frankfurt, where he led the team to the Europa League victory in 2022 and to third place in the Bundesliga in 2025.
The German executive is known for his ability to spot talent and turn them into significant profits: the transfers of Kolo Muani for €95 million to PSG, of Marmoush for €75 million to Manchester City, of Ekitike for €95 million to Liverpool and of Pacho, bought for €13 million and sold for €40 million to PSG, are examples.
Eintracht Frankfurt president Mathias Beck stated that he has not been contacted by Milan regarding Krosche and that the executive will remain in Frankfurt at least until 2028, the expiry of his contract. However, his position has become less certain due to a relationship that is no longer solid with the fans.
Cardinale, who has already reshuffled Milan's management by dismissing Max Allegri, Geoffrey Moncada, Giorgio Furlani and Igli Tare, has introduced new executives such as Massimo Calvelli (CEO) and Stefano Cocirio (CFO). He now wants to fill the sporting void by entrusting a Head of Football with daily management, supporting coach Ruben Amorim.
The project foresees that Krosche, if confirmed, could help improve the team's ability to create chances for forwards such as Gonçalo Ramos, currently at one goal, and to rebalance Milan's tactical approach.
