Milan aim to secure Man Utd defender Yoro in January
AC Milan have identified Manchester United defender Leny Yoro as a January target, with a reported fee of €50 million, down from the £52 million United paid in 2024. The move would reunite the Frenchman with manager Ruben Amorim, who now leads Milan.
Yoro featured in 53 games under Amorim at Old Trafford, making him the third‑most‑used player the Portuguese coach oversaw at United. This season he has logged only 22 minutes in the Premier League. Amorim’s preference stems from the time they spent together at United, and the €50 million price tag reflects a reduced valuation.
January target identified
Milan sit fifth in the Serie A after five matches and remain unbeaten with three wins and two draws. They have conceded just four goals in those five games, yet the club still seeks a defensive reinforcement in January. The summer window saw six new arrivals, but the defensive line still lacks depth.

Milan's defensive needs
At United, Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire are ahead of Yoro in the pecking order, while Matthijs de Ligt is unavailable through injury. Michael Carrick has not placed Yoro in his immediate plans, and the defender is aware of his precarious situation. United are also monitoring Lecce's Tiago Gabriel, Stuttgart's Finn Jeltsch and Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite as potential signings.
A move would reunite Yoro with Amorim and give Milan a familiar defender for the second half of the season. For United, the transfer could free up wages and allow Yoro to revive his career. Plans already drawn up for 2027 suggest Milan may have an easier route to securing the player.
