McCourt's fan token launch aims to cash in on Marseille supporters

At 11:00 CEST on 14 October, the Stade Vélodrome will echo with the buzz of a digital launch as Olympique de Marseille unveils its official fan token, $OM, a move designed by owner Frank McCourt to tap the passion of its supporters for fresh revenue.

Token details and financial aim

The club will issue 250 000 $OM tokens at a fixed price of $0.41 each. If every token sells, the first‑phase offering could generate $102 500, a modest but notable sum for the financially strained side.

The sale is split into two windows on the same day. From 11:00 to 19:00 supporters may buy up to 100 tokens each, after which sales continue without a per‑person cap until the allocation is exhausted.

Exclusive experiences for token holders

Even a single $OM grants access to official club polls, while 25 tokens unlock VIP experiences at the “Table des Légendes” during matches against Le Havre, Nice or Lille.

Higher tiers promise more dream‑like rewards: 50 tokens let fans watch a game from the dressing‑room, 100 tokens secure a European away‑trip experience, and 150 tokens offer a chance to train on the club’s training ground alongside legends.

All perks remain subject to eligibility rules, availability and the reward system managed by Socios.com, meaning token holders must still meet conditions to enjoy the offers.

Frank McCourt has framed the initiative as a way to diversify income while deepening the club’s digital footprint, hoping the token will cement a stronger bond with the Marseille fanbase.

Whether the $OM token will persuade supporters to spend amid a season of on‑field difficulties remains to be seen, but the venture marks another step in Olympique de Marseille’s push into the world of crypto‑based fan engagement.
