Mbappe's double turns tide in El Clasico showdown at Camp Nou

Real Madrid secured a 2‑1 victory over Barcelona in the La Liga El Clasico on the 25th, with Kylian Mbappe netting twice. The win broke Barcelona’s perfect start of nine wins and 39 goals, and narrowed the points gap to three.

Barcelona entered the match unbeaten in nine league games, averaging over four goals per game and having only lost a Champions League group fixture to Paris Saint‑Germain on the 20th. Their line‑up was missing Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia and Dani Olmo, while Real Madrid, under new coach Jose Mourinho, were without Vinicius Junior (suspension) and Thibaut Courtois (illness), with Andriy Lunin in goal.

Mbappe opened the scoring in the 41st minute, Hafinha equalised for Barcelona in the 61st, and Mbappe completed his brace in the 87th. Barcelona host Alaves on the 31st, while Real travel to Rayo Santander on 1 November.
