Mbappé disappointed in Madrid, pressure mounts for a departure

Arriving in the summer of 2024 at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé left Paris Saint‑Germain hoping to finally lift the Champions League, but two seasons later he has not won any major trophy, while PSG has lifted the Coupe aux grandes oreilles twice.

Unkept promises in Madrid

Kylian Mbappé joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2024, convinced that leaving Paris Saint‑Germain, deemed unable to win the Champions League with him, would allow him to lift the much‑desired European trophy. He was the captain of the French national team and hoped the Spanish club would give him that chance. However, Real have not won the Champions League since his arrival.

Despite having finished as the top scorer in La Liga over the two seasons played, Mbappé has not contributed to winning the league, the Champions League or the Copa del Rey. These absences of major titles contrast sharply with Paris Saint‑Germain's two victories in the Coupe aux grandes oreilles during the same period.

The Spanish press is irritated, not because of a lack of sporting performances, but because of the player's communication. He is now more in the eye of the media cyclone, perceived as a behavioural problem rather than a footballing responsibility.

Rumours and hunches about a departure

For a few days now, Iberian media, including Cadena SER, have hinted that Mbappé's behaviour is not liked internally at Real Madrid. This rumour circulates while the club has not yet confirmed any official dissatisfaction.

The topic was discussed on the show El Larguero broadcast this Thursday, where the hosts revived the debate about the Frenchman's future. The segment allowed the introduction of a well‑known French journalist, Daniel Riolo.

Daniel Riolo said: “I think it’s possible. If he doesn’t have the team he wants, I think it’s possible. I think he’s not happy. To me, his behaviour is very problematic.” He added that the possibility of a departure from Real Madrid as early as next summer could not be ruled out.

He clarified: “This is not information, it’s a hunch. He is worried about what he has found at Real Madrid, because the team is not the one he imagined when José Mourinho arrived.” The contrast between promises of glory and rumours of discontent shows that Mbappé’s future at the Casa Blanca remains uncertain.
