Maza’s virtual rating jump mirrors his real‑world rise in FC27
Ibrahim Maza laughed at a 69 shooting rating in EA Sports FC 27, yet the same virtual card shows his overall rating soaring to 80 – a stark contrast to the modest numbers that once defined his game and a reflection of his breakout season with Bayer Leverkusen.
Playful reveal at the Bundesliga‑433 exchange
He first learned about the new EA Sports FC 27 card during an exchange organised jointly by the Bundesliga and the media outlet 433.
During the event, the Algerian international joked about his shooting score, saying, “Guys, what is that? Come on!” after seeing the 69 rating.
He correctly predicted his dribble rating, estimating it between 84 and 85 and receiving an 85, and also guessed his overall rating, now set at 80. The card lists 74 in speed, 77 in passing, 64 in defence and 66 in physical.
Rating surge mirrors on‑field success
In the previous edition of the game Maza was rated only 67; the jump to 80 adds 13 points after a season in which he scored seven goals and provided five assists across 44 matches in all competitions.
His supporters at Bayer Leverkusen voted him the club’s best player of the season, underscoring the impact of his performances.
At the World Cup 2026, Maza featured in all four matches for Algeria (Alg) and finished as the best dribbler of the group stage.
Now valued at €45 million, the 20‑year‑old holds the highest market value among Algerian internationals.
The contrast between his humorous reaction to a low shooting score and the substantial rise in his virtual and real‑world credentials highlights how the EA Sports FC 27 rating has become a barometer of his rapid development at Leverkusen.
