MAWA SESAY Milan secures Norwegian teenage forward until 2029

AC Milan have secured Norwegian forward Mawa Sesay on a long‑term deal that runs until 30 June 2029, confirming the teenage talent will join the Italian side and wear the number 17 shirt. The 18‑year‑old, born on 15 April 2005, arrives as a key addition to Milan’s Women’s squad.

MAWA, born on 15 April 2005, is the focus of the Club’s long‑term investment, underscoring its commitment to nurturing young talent.

Sesay will be allocated the number 17 jersey for the Italian side, a detail confirmed in the official statement.

Mawa developed through the youth setups of Hyggen, Fjell and Skiold before joining the newly formed Strømsgodset Women’s team in 2021, where she began to attract national attention.

In August 2022 she transferred to Vålerenga Fotball Damer, and SESAY’s debut on 18 September against Stabæk marked her entry into the Toppserien, quickly establishing herself in the top‑flight.

Sesay contributed to Vålerenga’s Norwegian league title in September 2024 and helped secure historic qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage, gaining valuable continental experience.

Internationally, she has represented Norway at Under‑16, Under‑17 and Under‑19 levels and featured at the UEFA Women’s Under‑17 European Championship in 2022, confirming her status as a promising forward.

AC Milan pursued Sesay for her proven goal‑scoring record, experience in domestic and European competitions, and her age, which fits the Club’s long‑term planning for the Women’s squad.

The transfer adds a highly‑rated Norwegian forward to Milan’s roster while Vålerenga Fotball Damer lose a key player, a move both clubs expect to shape their Women’s programmes in the coming seasons.
