After managerial spells at Vélez Sarsfield, Atlanta United and Newell’s Old Boys, he joined Mikel Arteta’s staff at Arsenal in the summer of 2025. Sérgio Conceição, a name that resurfaces whenever the OM bench is questioned, is currently unattached after stints at FC Nantes, FC Porto, AC Milan and Al‑Ittihad. Blanc and Regragui – experienced options
Laurent Blanc has been free since leaving Al‑Ittihad in September 2025. The 1998 World Cup winner brings a wealth of experience from Bordeaux, the France national team, Paris Saint‑Germain, Olympique Lyonnais and a league‑cup double in Saudi Arabia in the 2024‑2025 season. Recent rumours linked him with Trabzonspor, yet the club’s president has not secured a bench for him, leaving him ready for a new challenge.
Walid Regragui, the Franco‑Moroccan who departed the Morocco national team in March after three and a half years, also offers immediate availability. He guided Morocco to the 2022 World Cup semi‑final and the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations final, and at 51 he could view a return to club football as his next step. His playing career in Ligue 1 with Toulouse, Ajaccio, Dijon and Grenoble adds French experience to his résumé.
Tudor – a known quantity
Igor Tudor previously managed Olympique de Marseille in the 2022‑2023 season, steering the club to a third‑place Ligue 1 finish before departing after a single campaign. Since then he has coached Lazio, Juventus and Tottenham, and is now unattached. Tudor’s intimate knowledge of the club, its supporters and the intense pressure surrounding it makes him a natural candidate should Genesio leave, although no approach has been reported.
