Marseille accelerates Italian hunt, eyes Juventus duo
Olympique de Marseille have stepped up their Italian transfer activity, sending emissaries to Turin to discuss two Juventus players – goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio and defender Federico Gatti – as the club looks to reinforce its squad this Mercato window amid an intense push.
Italian market push
Despite not having completed any signings in the current window, Marseille already proved capable of pulling talent from Turin, having brought Timothy Weah from Juventus last summer. The club’s renewed focus on the Italian market signals a strategic shift after a quiet start.
According to reports from Tuttosport, several OM representatives were spotted in Turin conducting talks with Juventus officials. Their presence confirms Marseille’s concrete interest in multiple Juventus assets that could become available.
Targeted Juventus duo
Federico Gatti, a defender, is listed by Juventus as a player they could let go if the price is right. Juventus values Gatti at €25 million, a figure the OM board deems far too high for their budget, even though his profile matches the defensive needs of the French Club.
Michele Di Gregorio, the Juventus goalkeeper, has also entered Marseille’s radar. Juventus is actively seeking a solution for the keeper, and clubs such as Valencia have shown interest, while Marseille aims to find a replacement for Rulli.
From Juventus’s side, the club – often referred to as Juve – wants to trim its squad and remains open to negotiations on both players. The Italian side’s willingness to discuss departures adds weight to Marseille’s pursuit.

The contrast between Marseille’s aggressive outreach and Juventus’s high valuation underscores a potential double‑signing that could reshape both squads, but the final outcome will depend on whether the French side can meet the financial expectations.
