Marco Rose bolsters Bournemouth defence with new Portuguese signing
Bournemouth have added a new defender as manager Marco Rose welcomes 22‑year‑old Portuguese centre‑back António Silva, signed from Benfica in Lisbon, following the departure of Marcos Senesi and strengthening the club’s central defence. The signing aims to fill the void left by the Italian defender and bolster the squad for the upcoming season.
Most games under the German coach have been played since Rose took charge, and the team has been looking to solidify its back line after Senesi’s exit.
Silva, 22, joins Bournemouth from Benfica Lisbon where he featured regularly in the Portuguese side’s defence. Rose believes the young centre‑back brings quality and depth to his ranks.
