Marc-Andre ter Stegen becomes number one, doubts about Jonas Urbig

Hamann also named Alexander Nübel of Besiktas Istanbul as his personal first choice. "Marc-Andre ter Stegen was injured for a long time and is now playing in the Netherlands. That one has to wait first," he added, describing his preference for Nübel as a gut or feeling matter.

At the same time, Hamann finds ter Stegen's current call-up understandable. The keeper has "somehow also earned to be the number one now". In the DFB team, they are watching how the situation develops.

Ter Stegen will be between the posts on Thursday in the Nations League duel against the Netherlands in Klopp's first game, and the decision could shape the starting eleven for the upcoming qualification matches.
