Mancini launches new Italy at Coverciano with 4‑3‑3 for the World Cup

In the bright atrium of the Aula Magna in Coverciano, Roberto Mancini spoke for the first time after his presentation, outlining the contours of a new Italy that starts with a 4‑3‑3. The coach emphasized that the new course of Italy has begun and that the next World Cup will be the main objective after three heavy absences.

Clear objectives for the upcoming Nations League

The Italian team has started the training camp ahead of the four upcoming Nations League matches against Belgium, France and Turkey twice. Mancini said: "I set out to have a team that dominates, that plays well, that always gives its best. You can't always win but we will start to do this, to win".

The coach added that, over the next four years, "we will bring something home" and that many of the young call-ups are there for the first time, eager to give their best.

The squad of 33 players

During the first training session, Mancini arranged the 33 call-ups into groups according to the 4‑3‑3 formation, awaiting Ruggeri's arrival. He thus displayed the team's basic structure, highlighting roles and tactical combinations.

Among the proposed starters are Donnarumma, Bastoni, Barella, Tonali and Zaniolo, while up front Kean, Scamacca and Raspadori emerge, all ready to contribute to the project.

A tour de force of hopes

The coach concluded the press conference by emphasizing that his aim is "to do something beautiful that entertains the fans", implying that the biggest challenge will be to turn potential into concrete results in the upcoming competitions.
