Manchester United remains keen on young Red Devil Joaquin Seys

Manchester United has again sent scouts to Belgium to closely assess the 21‑year‑old Red Devil of Club Brugge, Joaquin Seys. The delegation was in the stands during the 3‑0 victory over KRC Genk, where Seys also delivered a strong performance.

The English top club had already had Club Brugge's left‑back on its radar last summer and has not put that interest aside. United continues to follow Joaquin Seys closely, despite there being no bid or negotiations yet.

Scouting mission in Belgium

During the match against KRC Genk, which Club Brugge won 3‑0, the United delegation saw Seys involved in the build‑up to two goals. Moreover, the Red Devil kept a clean sheet, allowing the left‑back to also show his defensive side.

According to TEAMtalk, Seys is still a concrete name on Manchester United's list. Recruitment director Christopher Vivell is described as a great admirer of the Belgian.

Why United continues to follow Seys

United wants to increase competition for the left‑back position. Nathaniel Brown and Lewis Hall were previously higher on the wish list, but Brown moved to Bayern Munich and Hall extended his stay at Newcastle United, causing their prospects to dry up.

United sees in Seys a player who can contribute offensively while also possessing sufficient defensive qualities. His versatility is an asset; at Club Brugge he has already played on both flanks of the defence.

Seys extended his contract with Club Brugge in September 2025 until June 2029. He has been playing for the club since he was seven, progressed through Club NXT and has earned a regular spot in the first‑team core.

The new scouting mission against Genk shows that Manchester United continues to monitor Seys closely even after the summer. A potential transfer does not need to be accepted quickly by Club Brugge, but the interest is not fading for now.
