Manchester United keep hope alive for Louis Page after deadline blow

Man Utd remain in talks to sign Leicester City starlet Louis Page after the deadline‑day blow, with Arsenal also circling the 18‑year‑old. United have offered £8 million, with add‑ons reported at £2.5 million or £3 million, while Leicester demand £10 million plus similar add‑ons. Talks began in August (Picture: Getty).

United’s summer focus was rebuilding the midfield, bringing in Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba for a reported total spend of £89.6 million, £90 million, £150 million or £155 million. The club see Page, an England Under‑20 international and last season’s EFL Apprentice of the Year, as a long‑term investment and have highlighted the vision and pathway offered at Old Trafford, noting his family ties in Manchester. Get ahead of the start of the season with a clear plan for youth development.

If the £8 million offer is accepted, United could loan Page back to the King Power Stadium for the remainder of the season, preserving his development while securing a future asset. Arsenal’s interest adds pressure, but United remain confident the deal can be finalised, which would bolster their left‑back options and give Leicester a sizable fee.

Page is described as one of the brightest talents playing outside the English top flight, and United view him as a key piece of their Under‑20 pipeline. Under the terms discussed, the youngster could become a regular at Old Trafford in due course.
