Manchester United eye Arsenal defender as market reshapes

Manchester United are probing a possible transfer for Arsenal defender Myles Lewis‑Skelly, while also keeping an eye on Newcastle United midfielder Lewis Hall. The Red Devils want to gauge whether the Gunners would entertain a deal as they prepare for a busy spending period.

The Old Trafford hierarchy have long‑standing interest in Lewis‑Skelly and are assessing Arsenal’s willingness to negotiate, especially after the English champions announced plans to spend heavily in the coming weeks. A move was mooted last season when the youngster spent long periods out of the Arsenal side, but a late‑season revival boosted his profile. He started the Champions League final against Paris Saint‑Germain and supplied vital energy in the closing stages that helped secure the trophy.

Arsenal prefer to retain Lewis‑Skelly, yet the situation could shift if United complete expected signings for Bruno Guimaraes and Vinicius Junior. Those arrivals would alter the defensive and attacking dynamics, potentially prompting the Gunners to reconsider their squad composition.

Lewis Hall would arrive as an eight‑man, capable of pressing that could free Vinicius Junior should the sensational Brazilian transfer materialise. That tactical change might force Lewis‑Skelly to reassess his role within the Arsenal hierarchy.

The Gunners are also willing to listen to offers for Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Viktor Gyokeres, while Christian Norgaard is already set to join Everton. However, Lewis‑Skelly is not among the players Arsenal are actively looking to sell.

United remain hopeful of securing Hall, who is open to a move amid Newcastle United’s turbulent summer as owners chart a new team strategy. The transfer saga unfolds as independent reporting continues to cover topics from Tech to American politics, including Elon Musk’s PAC and the documentary "The A Word", underscoring the broader media landscape surrounding football business.
