Manchester United crushes Sabah and fears Atlético de Madrid
Manchester United beat the Azerbaijani club Sabah 4-0 in the Champions League, scoring four goals in the first half. Matheus Cunha opened the scoring in the 27th minute, followed by Bruno Fernandes in the 42nd, Benjamin Šeško in the 45th and Lisandro Martínez in the 68th.
A clear domination
The four goals were scored in less than half an hour, showing the superiority of the Red Devils. The third goal, scored by Šeško in the 45th minute, sealed the first half without a response from Sabah. The Red Devils made the newcomer believe they were still hallway terrors.
It was Sabah's first participation in a European competition, and the club suffered the Manchester United law from the kickoff. This heavy defeat highlights the experience gap between the two teams.
United face a talent vacuum as JJ Gabriel seeks European exit
Under the management of Michael Carrick, the Red Devils achieved what they wanted, consolidating their play. In their last twelve Champions League matches, they have recorded only their third win, the second since Carrick's arrival.
The next challenge awaits them against Atlético de Madrid in the next Champions League round, another tough opponent that looks formidable. United will have to stay vigilant to not lose the thread of their progress.
Fortunately, Lens offered a bit of suspense tonight, reminding that football remains unpredictable. Supporters can, however, expect an entertaining evening.
