Manchester City consider suing Real Madrid hopeful over Haaland

Manchester City are considering legal action against Enrique Riquelme. City’s bid for Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson was rejected.

Riquelme held up a Real Madrid shirt with Erling Haaland’s name on the back during a television appearance. He claimed a clause in Haaland’s contract would permit the striker to sign for Real if Riquelme were elected president.

On Wednesday Riquelme said Haaland wants to join Real Madrid. Haaland agreed a record nine-and-a-half-year deal in January 2025.

Enrique Riquelme is a Real Madrid presidential candidate. Riquelme promised Rodri would leave Manchester City for the record fifteen-time European champions.
