Manchester City stays flawless after spectacular win vs Sunderland

Manchester City, England's vice-champion, remain unbeaten in the Premier League after the Sky Blues defeated Sunderland at home on Sunday in a goal fest. The Austrian FA legionnaire Kevin Danso was in the team that celebrated the fifth win in the fifth league match with a 5-3 result.

Goal‑rich match narratives of both teams

Enzo Fernandez opened the scoring in the ninth minute, followed by Rayan Cherki in the twenty‑nine minute, putting City ahead twice. Southampton responded promptly through Brian Brobbey, who scored in the twelfth and thirty‑third minute. A misplaced pass by Danso in the build‑up created the opportunity for Cherki's 2‑1.

Antoine Semenyo gave Sunderland the apparent lead with goals in the forty‑three and fifty‑seven minute. Brobbey added the third goal of the day in the fifty‑nine minute, before Erling Haaland scored the eighth goal in the eighty‑first minute – his first goal against Sunderland and thus against any Premier League opponent.

Haaland tops the league's scorers' list with five league goals, closely followed by Alexander Isak, whose fourth goal gave Liverpool a 1‑0 away win at Bournemouth. Liverpool celebrated the narrow victory after a modest start to the season.

Leeds and Crystal Palace remained goalless, further differentiating the points table in the Premier League.
